What This Is For
Section titled “What This Is For”Archives is disaster recovery, not quick undo: an automated, encrypted, versioned backup of every deployment written to a local git repository on a cron schedule (every 6 hours by default, configurable, with a set number of Consul snapshots retained alongside it). The list shows each deployment’s total version count, whether it is still active or was deleted (and so only restorable from here), and its last backup time; restoring a version is how you bring back a deployment that was deleted outright, which the Backups screen’s Consul snapshots cannot do. The page also carries the schedule configuration — cron expression, timezone, retention count — and a shortcut to the Consul-snapshot system it sits alongside.
